Jewlery Appraisals

A Century Of Craftsmanship, Modern Tools & Techniques

The modern jeweler operates differently from the traditional artisan. Looking for jewelry appraisal services? Our family has been in the business over 100 years. If you want an evaluation of your jewelry's worth, you want Kingoff's Jewelers; The most trusted jeweler in Wilmington, NC.

Michael Kingoff is a Guild Gemologist of the Diamond Council of America and third-generation jeweler. We perform jewelry appraisals for Insurance, Estate and Insurance Replacement.

At Kingoff’s, we have been performing jewelry appraisals for decades, but we know it can be intimidating to get started.

Here is a breakdown of a typical appraisal process:

1. First, we will examine the piece of jewelry to determine its authenticity, quality, and condition, specifically looking for any any imperfections, damage, or signs of wear and tear.

2. Then we will take detailed measurements of the jewelry, including the weight, size, and dimensions of any gemstones. We may also test the metal for type or purity.

3. Once we have gathered all of the necessary information, we will use our expertise and knowledge of current market trends to determine the value of the piece of jewelry. Things like the gemstones, the quality of the craftsmanship, and the current market demand for similar pieces also may affect your appraisal.

4. We will create a detailed report that includes a description of the jewelry, its value, and any other relevant information.
